Tashfeen Rizwan, Restraint, 2025. Painting.

Tashfeen RizwanRestraint2025

I am always surprised to see my paintings when I finish them. They put a spotlight on emotions, psychology, and unrest. These merged characters try to see a free life, but each face carries uncertainty, hopelessness, and silent cries — prisoners of their own limitations, caught in cycles they cannot escape.

Aesthetically, the painting holds strong contrasts of green, red, yellow, blue, and permanent black lines that separate forms — not easy to manage but a courageous effort. I play with colors freely, following the instructions of my subconscious, which guides me well as I portray the face of society.
